Control of Soil-Borne Disease of Soybean

نویسندگان

چکیده

Soil-borne diseases are a significant cause of reduction in crop yield. Alternative management soils can enhance the natural disease-controlling organisms soil. This study explores impact alternative production methods on primary soybean disease, charcoal rot, caused by fungus Macrophomina phaseolina. Treatments that could potentially or control disease were implemented, and soil tests conducted for nutrient presence. Manure increased levels soil, as expected, but did not control. Solarization temperature within plots, number colony forming units M. Environmental conditions during 2022 growing season much hotter drier than normal, leading to reduced yields.

Root Interactions in a Maize/Soybean Intercropping System Control Soybean Soil-Borne Disease, Red Crown Rot

BACKGROUND Within-field multiple crop species intercropping is well documented and used for disease control, but the underlying mechanisms are still unclear. As roots are the primary organ for perceiving signals in the soil from neighboring plants, root behavior may play an important role in soil-borne disease control. PRINCIPAL FINDINGS In two years of field experiments, maize/soybean interc...

Immediate responses of cyst nematode, soil-borne pathogens and soybean yield to one-season crop disturbance after continuous soybean in northeast China

Habitat disturbance affects numerous ecosystem components and processes, but its effect on continuous soybean system is less available. Soybean was seeded following six preceding crops, including grain soybean (Glycine max L. Merill.), wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.), tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.), corn (Zea mays L.) and hemp (Cannabis Satia L.), on a Mollisol ...

Symbiotic control of mosquito borne disease.

It is well accepted that the symbiotic relationships insects have established with several microorganisms have had a key role in their evolutionary success. Bacterial symbiosis is also prevalent in insects that are efficient disease vectors, and numerous studies have sought to decrypt the basic mechanisms of the host-symbiont relationships and develop ways to control vector borne diseases. 'Sy...

Microbial control of arthropod-borne disease

Arthropods harbor a diverse array of microbes that profoundly influence many aspects of host biology, including vector competence. Additionally, symbionts can be engineered to produce molecules that inhibit pathogens. Due to their intimate association with the host, microbes have developed strategies that facilitate their transmission, either horizontally or vertically, to conspecifics. These a...
